The technical rescue conference organised in Linares, an event of the highest level in which ten teams from different parts of the country took part, concluded with great success.
All of them demonstrated an exceptional technical, physical and human level throughout an intense day of teamwork and self-improvement.
During the event, there was a common challenge: each team had to face six of the ten proposed scenarios, selected by lottery. The tests, which lasted a maximum of two hours each, went on without interruption from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The technical and physical demands of the scenarios required a full display of strategy, fluid communication, speed of execution and precision in every movement.
From access to a tank without oxygen with extraction by zip line, to complex manoeuvres on elevated structures, to transporting a stretcher in confined spaces, reverse zip lines, vertical progressions… The Espeleosocorro Sin Fronteras team successfully overcame all the scenarios within the established time limits, demonstrating great professionalism, coordination and technique.
The day ended with an emotional closing ceremony, where the efforts of all the teams were recognised with a commemorative plaque, and where the team received very positive words.
And, of course, we can’t forget a very special visitor: our dearest Alma. Passionate about caving and an essential part of this team, she accompanied us during all the tests, demonstrating once again that real barriers can be overcome with effort, enthusiasm and teamwork. Despite her mobility difficulties, her energy and enthusiasm were another driving force for all of us who took part in these days.
Alma was awarded a plaque, and was made an honorary member of the rescue team, an emotionally charged gesture for a true warrior who reminds us every day why we do what we do.
This event has not only been a demanding technical experience, but has also reinforced the team’s motivation for the upcoming challenges, such as the ambitious project in Chile. With renewed energy and the recognition of an entire sector, the team closes these days with their sights set on continuing to grow, learn and represent excellence in high-level technical rescue in our country.
