The members of the elite rescue team Espeleosocorro Sin Fronteras are eager to
start the first day of the competition.
After a breakfast break, they begin the day with introductions of all the teams that will
be participating in the competition.
Afterwards, there is an introduction to the competition and how each stage of
Grimpday will be developed, as well as the rules and regulations.
Our team experiences this first day of contact as a time of relaxation, where they
take the opportunity to connect with the other teams. They highlight the good
feelings and the good atmosphere they have experienced with the rest of the groups.
There is a very positive feeling of brotherhood.
The second day of competition begins, when the tests finally start in which they will
have to demonstrate their skill and agility at heights.
Today, the tests take place at the army facilities. The test consists of 4 stages, all of
them of a very high level of complexity:
- 1st STAGE: This first test takes place on structures at a height of about 15 meters, where they had to make a journey of about 10-12 meters along the structure until they reached a victim, who they had to rescue and move to a specific area.
- 2nd STAGE: This was carried out on the roof of a building, which had to be accessed via the ladder of a fire truck. Once they reached the roof, they assembled a gantry crane to be able to pick up a victim from the ground, lift them up to the gantry crane and move them to another point. The elite team was able to complete this test with good times.
- 3rd STAGE: In this case, it is a precision test, carried out between trees. They had to assemble the systems in the trees, and go from one tree to another via a zip line, without touching the structures where the stretcher passed.
- 4th STAGE: Finally, inside a building, they had to rescue a victim who was located just below them. In order to reach him, they had to move along some beams, previously assembling some systems on them in order to recover him. The time limit to complete this test was 1h 30 minutes and, despite its complexity, this rescue team was able to complete the test in just 50 minutes.
Congratulations team, keep up the good work!
