FORMAL, the training centre of La Línea Vertical, promotes technical training with the innovative NIFA project

FORMAL, the training centre of La Línea Vertical, has experienced significant growth since its creation, consolidating its position as a benchmark in specialised technical training in work at height. This training and research centre for work at height risks is a national benchmark, and is approved to provide training courses in the most internationally recognised rope access positioning standards. Over the years, FORMAL has expanded its training offer to adapt to the changing demands of the labour market, strengthening the preparation and security of professionals throughout the country and in different sectors.

This constant development has been possible thanks to the commitment of a multidisciplinary team of experts that promotes quality education, oriented to meet the specific needs of the industrial, wind and naval sectors. In this context, FORMAL continues to innovate and expand its scope with the implementation of new projects that reinforce its educational mission and social responsibility.

FORMAL has therefore launched the NIFA (New Impulse for Training at Heights) project, an ambitious initiative that seeks to improve the technical training and safety of professionals working in complex and high-risk environments. This project focuses on expanding and diversifying the training offer, focusing on key areas for occupational safety, such as Non Destructive Testing (NDT), Fire Fighting, First Aid, Confined Spaces and Height Safety. To this end, new equipment and cutting-edge technology are being incorporated to enable more effective and up-to-date learning.

NIFA is made possible thanks to a significant investment partially co-financed by the European Union, through the Just Transition Fund (FTJ) and the Institute for Just Transition (ITJ). This grant represents not only an endorsement of the work done by FORMAL, but also a renewed commitment to continue to provide training that meets the standards and demands of the most rigorous industry sectors.

The project has been underway since May 2023 and is scheduled to be completed in September 2025. Its implementation has required months of dedication, planning and joint effort by the entire team, further strengthening the conviction that investing in training is investing in the future.

At La Línea Vertical, we are very happy and proud that there is a firm commitment to safety and quality training in our sector. Projects such as NIFA represent a fundamental step towards strengthening the skills of those who work at height and in high-risk environments, reaffirming our commitment to excellence, prevention and the well-being of all the people who are part of this industry.

We will continue to support initiatives that promote technical training and contribute to building a safer and more professional future for all.
