The pipeline, which is approximately 1.7 km long and has a gradient of around 660 meters, is a critical piece of infrastructure that operates in highly demanding geographical and operational conditions.
During the initial technical survey, various structural and mechanical anomalies were identified in the pipe supports and joints, including:
- Bent or cut anchor bolts.
- Deterioration of concrete pedestals.
- Excessive touching and uneven seating of saddles.
- Absence of collars and deficiencies in surface protection systems.
- Similar conditions in expansion joints.

The first stage of the project allowed for intervention at the most critical points, validating both the working methodology and the technical and operational capacity of the G8 team to carry out repairs in a difficult-to-access and high-risk environment.
The results obtained fully met the defined technical and safety objectives, which enabled:
- Stabilise critical sections of the pipeline.
- Validate constructive solutions and intervention procedures.
- Perform work under strict safety and risk control standards.
These results were key in the client’s decision to continue with the project, moving forward to a second stage of intervention.
In this new phase, the project includes:
- Installation of more than 80 metal drawers on previously identified supports.
- Repair of more than five large joints, selected based on a technical criticality survey.
The prioritization of the points to be addressed was carried out through a detailed analysis of structural condition, operational behavior, and associated risk level.

The execution of this second stage reflects the client’s confidence in G8’s professional capabilities, both in designing solutions and in on-site execution.
This project is approached through:
- Applied engineering focused on infrastructure durability and stability.
- Technical teams specializing in highly complex work and difficult access.
- Rigorous safety procedures, appropriate to the environment and the risks involved.
The continuity of this project consolidates G8 as a reliable technical partner, capable of tackling complex interventions in critical infrastructure, integrating engineering, safety, and specialized execution. This type of work reinforces G8’s position as an engineering company with proven experience in high-risk and technically demanding projects.
