At G8 Vertical, we know that working at height does not allow for improvisation. Whether on an industrial site, a construction site or an intervention in critical infrastructure, safety must start with the equipment and its correct installation. Having the best personal protective equipment (PPE) is not enough: it is essential to ensure that it is inspected, certified and correctly installed, under the highest technical and regulatory standards.
Working at heights is, by definition, high risk. A fall from a height of just 1.8 metres can lead to serious injury or death. In this context, the systematic inspection of PPE becomes a vital prevention tool.
Proper inspection makes it possible to:
- Detect damage not visible to the naked eye.
- Prevent structural failures in actual use of the equipment.
- Comply with the requirements of the Directorate of Labour, ISP, mutual societies and external certifiers.
- Avoid penalties and consolidate a preventive culture in the company.

What types of inspections should be carried out?
1. Inspección Visual Diaria
- Responsible: the worker himself before starting his workday.
- What to check:
- Harnesses: stitching, wear, cuts.
- Carabiners and connectors: functional blockage, rust, deformation.
- Retractable lines or ropes: knots, peeling, moisture.
2. Periodic inspection (at least every 6 months)
- Responsible: a competent person, trained in PPE inspection.
- What to check:
- General condition of the complete fall detection system.
- History of use, storage and environmental conditions.
- Verification of certifications and technical traceability of the equipment.

At G8 Vertical we have qualified and certified technicians to carry out inspections and maintenance, and at G8 Capacitaciones, we offer specialised training so that your team can carry out internal inspections with technical criteria and responsibility.
An improvised installation does not save lives. A professional installation does. Investing in safety is to protect the most valuable thing: YOUR TEAM.
