La Línea Vertical received the Healthy Company certification granted by OCA Global on Thursday, February 15, along with Guadacorte SA and La Hacienda Golf. These are the first three companies in the Campo de Gibraltar to obtain this recognition.
This certification guarantees that the company meets a series of requirements that make it a workplace where employees and managers collaborate in the application of a continuous improvement process to protect and promote the health, safety and well-being of all workers, as well as the sustainability of the centre.
The event, which took place at the I+D+i Building of the Algeciras Technological Campus, was attended by the territorial delegate for Health and Consumption of the Junta de Andalucía in the province of Cádiz, Eva Pajares; the general director of OCA Global, David Lao; the director of certification of OCA Global, Raúl Mesa, and representatives of the companies involved in obtaining the certification, such as the director of the consultancy Q Sistemas, Enrique Domínguez, and the director of Asepeyo, Sergio Tamayo.
In his speech, the director of Q Sistemas highlighted that to award the Healthy Company certification, they not only carry out a review of the established legal requirements, but they go further and in addition to evaluating the health programs that companies offer their workers and the continuity in the monitoring of health, they also audit sustainability and social responsibility; aspects that “have been widely exceeded” by La Línea Vertical, Guadacorte SA and La Hacienda Golf.
For her part, Eva Pajares wanted to thank these companies “for having invested in health“. She highlighted the importance of providing workers with health benefits, because this makes them better employees and this has a positive impact on the company. She added that “in the end, this also benefits my Ministry because fewer people will go to primary and hospital care consultations, so we all win and we close the circle”.
The representatives of the companies that have obtained the certificate also expressed their conviction that the effort they have made to implement a system that seeks to improve the well-being of workers has a positive impact on the company itself, by reducing accidents, illnesses and absenteeism, among other aspects.
Carlos Martín Díaz de Espada, managing partner of La Línea Vertical, stated that his company has been committed to improving the working conditions of its employees for more than five years and when a line of subsidies from the Junta de Andalucía arose in this regard, they applied for it and it was granted. He assured that this financial support “has been fundamental” to be able to implement an action plan that has now been recognized with the Healthy Company certification. In the words of Carlos Martín, “investing in health is investing in making workers feel better every day and that means that they are more motivated to work at La Línea Vertical and that the company works better”.
