LA LÍNEA VERTICAL has just made a major investment in two new pieces of equipment that allow us to cover a wider range of activities within the industrial sector and provide a better service to our customers, while increasing safety. Specifically, our company has recently acquired an ultrasonic NDT testing equipment focused on the measurement of defects at high temperatures (EMAT) and a high-capacity load lifting equipment for great heights.
Our new EMAT equipment is called CODA, from the company Innerspec. It is the first and only compact and high power ultrasonic flaw detector; it is the most advanced ultrasonic equipment for measuring process lines and with it we can detect defects in any process line.
With the regular ultrasonic equipment we had until now (Olympus 45MG range), we were able to carry out these measurements, but up to a temperature limit, as the sensor needs a couplant (thermal paste) that loses its consistency at high temperatures, which makes the measurement impossible. However, with the new EMAT we can measure a wider range of process lines at very high temperatures, without the need to use couplant, and with the advantage of measuring the lines continuously without the need for them to be stopped, which allows us to increase production in the measurement of points and adapt better to the needs of our customers.
The other new acquisition is a winch for lifting large loads to great heights, made to measure by the company Ferro Maquinaria de Elevación, from Bilbao. This equipment has a cable length of 340 metres and supports up to two tons of weight, thus giving us the possibility to cover lifting assemblies in practically any structure, mainly in large chimneys.
One of the main advantages of this new load lifting equipment is that it has different speeds and has the ability to operate faster than previous equipment, thus reducing waiting times to start work.
These new acquisitions are the result of LA LÍNEA VERTICAL’s concern to be in constant renovation and to have the latest generation material to make us stronger within the national panorama while at the same time increasing work safety, which is one of our company’s main objectives.
