The award to LA LÍNEA VERTICAL, within the framework contract for the rescue of REPSOL, of the centers of Cartagena and Puertollano is now official. An excellent news, without a doubt, that allows LA LÍNEA VERTICAL to extend our commercial relationship with REPSOL for three more years in industrial rescue, one of our main services.
We congratulate Alberto Rodríguez and Alberto Pérez, managers of the previous contract and who have carefully prepared this offer, in addition to the entire team of LA LÍNEA VERTICAL for the good work developed in these years, which has been key to the award.
Thanks to REPSOL for trusting once again in our company in a contract as important for the safety of people as the industrial rescue contract, for the industrial complexes of Puertollano and Cartagena. LA LÍNEA VERTICAL has been working in the industrial complexes of Tarragona, Bilbao, Coruña, Puertollano and Cartagena for more than a decade, and this means for us to see how our work, our dedication and our professionalism are valued and appreciated.
Two benchmark complexes for REPSOL
The Puertollano Industrial Complex has extensive facilities and generates a wide variety of products. It is a benchmark within the energy and chemical industry thanks to the work and dedication of thousands of people over more than 70 years. It currently has the challenge of reaching net zero CO2 emissions.
Energy efficiency is one of the ways with the greatest potential to mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. It has always been present in the projects and processes of the Puertollano Industrial Complex. REPSOL’s goal is to reduce carbon intensity and move towards the goal of being a net-zero emissions company by 2050.
The Repsol Puertollano industrial complex is a pioneer in many fields as a refinery in terms of circular economy and with the manufacture of HVO (hydrogenated vegetable oils). It will also play a fundamental role in the production of hydrogen, together with Enagás. This summer it carried out a pioneering test with the manufacture of more than 7,000 tons of biojet for aviation.
Cartagena, the first advanced biofuels plant in Spain
We are also present at Repsol Cartagena’s industrial complex, which has started the construction of the first advanced biofuels plant in Spain.
The new facilities, which will come into operation in the first half of 2023, are part of the transformation process that REPSOL has launched in its industrial complexes to decarbonize its processes and manufacture products with low, zero or even negative carbon footprint.
Repsol will invest 200 million euros in this project that will have the capacity to produce 250,000 tons per year of advanced biofuels such as biodiesel, biojet, bionaphtha and biopropane, which can be used in airplanes, ships, trucks or cars, and which will reduce 900,000 tons of CO2 per year.
