La Línea Vertical participates in the shutdown of the Repsol factory in Sines with its industrial rescue team

La Línea Vertical continues to consolidate its international presence through its active participation in projects that are difficult to access for the energy sector. Since mid-May, our company has been deployed at the Repsol factory in Sines (Portugal), where it is participating in the technical shutdown of one of the most important industrial complexes on the Iberian Peninsula.

As part of an industrial rescue services contract, a specialised team from La Línea Vertical is working continuously at the complex, ensuring safety at height and in confined spaces during the maintenance and inspection work scheduled for this shutdown.

Joint real-life simulation exercise: recognition at the technical level

On 24 June, as part of the safety reinforcement activities, a joint industrial rescue exercise was carried out in collaboration with the ECI teams, the INTERPREV Medical Post and with the support of Operación Olefinas. The drill took place in column T2301 and included the rescue of an unconscious worker in a confined space, using rope access techniques and vertical evacuation to ground level, with simultaneous stabilisation and immobilisation for safe transfer.

The operation was carried out by the La Línea Vertical rescue team, made up of three highly qualified technicians, supported by ground crew, all of whom are officially certified in industrial rescue techniques, rope access and advanced first aid. The operation was completed in approximately 32 minutes and was notable for its efficiency, coordination and compliance with all safety protocols. The client’s internal newsletter highlighted La Línea Vertical’s performance, expressly praising the speed and professionalism of the team deployed, emphasising the importance of these interventions in ensuring a safe and incident-free shutdown.

Commitment to safety, beyond technical compliance

Throughout the shutdown, all deadlines were met, ensuring continuous coverage of work at height and in confined spaces thanks to the uninterrupted presence of our technical team. This presence was key to the smooth running of critical tasks at the complex, supporting the operations of contractors and Repsol’s own staff under strict safety conditions.

Furthermore, the work in Sines does not end here. The La Línea Vertical team will continue to operate at the site over the coming months, as part of the Alba Project and future scheduled shutdowns at the complex, thus strengthening a long-term strategic collaboration.

With each international project, La Línea Vertical confirms its commitment to industrial safety, providing high-tech solutions, certified equipment and a response capacity that meets the most demanding requirements of the energy and petrochemical sectors.
