Chimneys

In La Línea Vertical we are a member of the International Committee of Industrial Chimneys since 2005, applying its procedures for the inspection and maintenance of these key structures.

Industrial chimneys allow gases from a furnace, boiler, or any other installation where combustion occurs to the atmosphere to be evacuated; in addition, they provide sufficient draft to the process and discharge the gases at such a height that their effects on the surrounding ground-level areas are minimal. These facilities suffer significant deterioration due to the high temperatures and chemical aggressiveness of the gases they expel and unfavorable weather conditions. In order to remain operational and safe throughout their projected service life, chimneys must be inspected and maintained regularly.

Currently, La Línea Vertical performs chimney inspections using any of the following procedures: Visual inspection, physical inspection, sampling, ultrasonic thickness measurement, screw joint testing. These inspections are carried out based on pre-established and planned systems, except for emergency inspections after failures or accidents, following the recommendations of organizations such as CICIND.
