Emergency intervention at the production tower in Perú

Immediate response to a power cut

Upon receiving a report of a power cut at a production tower in a gas and chemicals plant, the La Línea Vertical Perú team activated its emergency response protocol. The initial priority was to deploy immediately to the site to pinpoint the exact cause of the fault, given the critical importance of this type of industrial infrastructure

Implementation of secure access systems

To ensure safety during the assessment phase, a system of retractable vertical lifelines was installed. This specialist equipment was essential in enabling technical staff to move safely to the upper sections of the tower. The use of these systems allowed precise access to electrical connection points and joints located at height, minimising the risks associated with working at height.

Diagnosis of damage and repair of joints

During the inspection, it was found that several joints showed visible damage, such as scorch marks and deterioration of the insulation. In response, the affected sections were cut out and the insulation was replaced by applying new insulating tape, thereby restoring the system to a safe condition.

Final check and restoration of service

Once the corrective maintenance work had been completed, a comprehensive functional test of the electrical system was carried out. The results were satisfactory, confirming the quality of the repair and verifying that the production tower was operating correctly. Following this verification, the facility was returned to service, ensuring the stability of the plant’s production process.
