G8 VERTICAL teams up with 3M to deliver intensive training at industry-leaning companies in Chile

At G8 VERTICAL we remain committed to excellence when it comes to imparting knowledge. That is why we collaborate with leading companies in the industry. This is the case of 3M, with whom we have managed to provide some of our customers with three days of intensive training in the Competent Person in Fall Protection course.

Participants in this course acquired theoretical and practical knowledge on the inspection of fall arrest equipment, such as anchorage systems, horizontal and vertical systems that will enable occupational risk prevention advisors to make appropriate and timely decisions on the suitability of the use of fall protection equipment in their organisation. With this, decision making and risk reduction is supported by national and international regulations.

The professionals who participated in this training were very satisfied. This is the case of Víctor Alveal, from ITO ERNC (Non-Conventional Renewable Energies), who found the course enjoyable and fun. He highlights the instructors’ way of teaching and reaching out to people, which made for a good team. “I will transfer all the knowledge acquired to the projects we are currently carrying out in NCRE at CMPC”, he says.

Erika Veas, head of Prevention at Tresmontes S.A., referred to the dynamics of the course, emphasising that the course “was different to those I have previously attended. Although there was a lot of theory, it was put into practice, which helped to better understand the information provided by the instructor in charge, who was highly competent, qualified and generous with all the knowledge he has acquired throughout his professional experience. Last but not least, the practical work done in the 3M laboratories helped me to understand and put myself in the shoes of the workers who spend their entire working day working at height; this allows me to empathise even more with them and to do everything in my power to make their working conditions safer.

It should be noted that in this unique experience, professionals from leading companies, such as CMPC and TRES MONTES, were trained and it was a knowledge exchange and a fascinating journey through the most innovative types of devices, up-to-date regulations and engineering applied to work at height.

We are very proud to continue to lead the way towards a safer and more productive working environment. We would like to thank all participants and 3M for making this collaboration a resounding success – together, building a safer future!
